Get ready to bring your A-game — Gay Cove Olympics Day is all about sun, competition, and absolutely ridiculous fun!

Each summer, we host our own wild spin on the Olympics, right here on the water at Gay Cove. It’s a full day of boat-to-boat games, team challenges, and hilarious contests where the only real goal is to laugh harder than you thought possible. Think floatie races, paddleboard relays, water balloon battles, and maybe a few surprise events (we like to keep it interesting). Costumes? Encouraged. Team spirit? Required. We love seeing everyone go all out with matching swimsuits, crazy hats, and flags — the more over-the-top, the better.

Throughout the day, the cove is alive with music, cheering, and a few friendly rivalries. And while the competition is fierce, the real prize is bragging rights…and maybe a drink or two from the losing team.

Whether you’re diving into every event or just floating by and soaking in the chaos, Gay Cove Olympics Day is pure summer magic — the perfect way to celebrate friendship, pride, and good old-fashioned ridiculousness on Lake Lanier.

FLAGS & SPEEDOS PARTY

JULY 4th WEEKEND

There’s nothing quite like celebrating the 4th of July on Lake Lanier — our Flags and Speedo Party is brings the heat, the fun, and all the pride to Gay Cove!

Every year, we turn the lake into a floating playground of color, music, and unforgettable memories. Picture this: sunshine sparkling off the water, boats flying rainbow flags, coolers stocked with your favorite drinks, and the freedom to rock your fiercest speedo with friends who know how to celebrate in style. As the sun sets, the magic really kicks off. We typically gather to watch the fireworks light up the night sky over the Lanier Yacht Club. It’s one of the best shows on the lake, it’s pure magic — the bursts of color reflecting across the water while the party vibes carry late into the night.

Whether you’re cruising in for the day or making it a weekend getaway, the 4th of July at Gay Cove is an experience you won’t want to miss. Flags high, speedos tight — let’s make this Independence Day the most epic one yet!

END OF THE SUMMER PARTY

As the sun starts setting a little earlier and the summer winds down, there’s only one way to say goodbye to another unforgettable season at Gay Cove — with our legendary End of the Summer Party!

Every year, we close out lake season with a full day (and night) of non-stop celebration. It’s one last chance to soak up the sun, blast the tunes, and dance on deck with all your favorite people. Boats tie up, floats come out, coolers stay full, and the good vibes roll from the afternoon into a golden sunset.

The End of the Summer Party is a little bit wild, a little bit nostalgic, and completely unforgettable. It’s when we relive the best moments of the summer — and create a few last crazy memories to get us through the colder months.

There’s no dress code, but trust us: epic swimwear and over-the-top floaties are highly encouraged. Bring your energy, your favorite drink, and all the love you’ve got for this amazing community we call home.
